Phoenix & Maricopa County
Jails and courts, one building at a time
The inmate search names a jail. The paperwork names a court. Those are often different addresses. Start with the building you are actually dealing with.

Maricopa County books people, and holds Initial Appearance Court, at the sheriff’s Intake, Transfer, and Release facility at 2670 S. 28th Drive. Superior Court says that building replaced the old central intake at the 4th Avenue Jail. The sheriff’s Initial Appearance page puts that court at the same address. A criminal bond, when the court sets one, is still paid in person at the Bond and Fine Room on the northwest corner of the 4th Avenue Jail, 201 S. 4th Avenue. Release is back at 2670 S. 28th Drive. City courts and justice courts are separate buildings, with their own phones and their own case searches.
The jail guides below were already published on the blog. This page links them. The court guides are new. Every address and phone is taken from an official county, sheriff, or city page, and each guide lists those sources. This is general information, not legal advice. The Bail Barn answers 24 hours a day at (623) 428-2276. The quoted premium is 10% of the bail amount, with a $150 minimum. That estimate is the premium only. Additional fees may apply. County jails
4th Avenue Jail
Bond and Fine Room at 201 S. 4th Avenue. Booking and the initial appearance are at Intake, Transfer, and Release, not at this jail.
Lower Buckeye Jail
Housing jail at 3250 W. Lower Buckeye Road. The bond window and the release door are at other addresses.
Estrella Jail
Maricopa County’s women’s jail at 2939 W. Durango Street, on the same southwest Phoenix complex.
Towers Jail
Housing jail at 3127 W. Gibson Lane. The lookup names the building. The bond is still posted downtown.
Watkins Jail
Housing at 2680 S. 28th Drive, one number away from Intake, Transfer, and Release at 2670. Keep the doors separate.
Intake, Transfer, and Release is 2670 S. 28th Drive and is open 24 hours. The court says it replaced central intake at 4th Avenue Jail, and the sheriff places Initial Appearance Court there, along with booking and release. It is covered inside the 4th Avenue and Watkins guides, including which door is housing and which door is release. The jail directory is on mcso.org. The inmate lookup is on the inmate search guide.
Courts
Maricopa County Superior Court
Felony court at 201 W. Jefferson Street. The bond, if one is set, is posted at 4th Avenue Jail, not at the courthouse counter.
Phoenix Municipal Court
City court at 300 W. Washington Street for Phoenix misdemeanors and traffic. A county felony bond is a different window, at 4th Avenue Jail.
Maricopa County Justice Courts
Twenty-six precincts, a handful of shared buildings, and a citation that already names the right court. West Valley cases often sit in Surprise or Avondale, not downtown.
Glendale City Court
City court at 5711 W. Glendale Avenue for Glendale misdemeanors and traffic. County justice courts for parts of Glendale sit in Surprise and Avondale.
Peoria Municipal Court
City court at 10100 N. 83rd Avenue, open Monday–Thursday and closed Friday. County cases for parts of Peoria are at the Surprise justice court.
Avondale and Goodyear Courts
Two city courts with different hours, plus Agua Fria, Country Meadows, and White Tank justice courts at 10420 W. Van Buren Street.
